Every so often, you stumble across something online that seems like it was made for you and you alone. One of my favorite things to do is read to my daughter. She loves animal books and some of her favorites consist of little more than pictures of animals and their names. We spend a lot of time talking about each creature — where it lives, what it eats, that sort of stuff. Her go-to move lately is pointing to an animal and asking, “What does that sound like?” I’m an all-star when it comes to animal noises. The cow goes “moo.” The pig goes “oink.” The cat goes “meow.” Boom, nailed it. But one of her books includes a picture of a fox, and that beady-eyed sucker stumps me every time.
Now, thanks to a pair of Norwegian brothers who go by the name Ylvis, I have an answer the next time she asks me what the fox sounds like. Big ups, Ylvis. I owe you one. You just became my fourth favorite thing about Norway, right behind Vikings, the 1980s synth-pop band A-HA, and my homeboy Edvard Munch!
