Kentucky took on Ball State this afternoon in the second round of the NCAA South Bend Regional at Melissa Cook Stadium. The Wildcats swept the Cardinals in a 5-0 defeat to advance to the next round of the NCAA South Bend Regional.
Brooklin Hinz led the team offensively by scoring two hits and three runs during the matchup. Nikki Sagermann and Sylver Samuel provided a run and a hit each, and Darington Richardson scored the remaining run of the game. Erin Rethlake contributed two hits and two RBI and Maisie Steed added one hit and one RBI. Defensively, Kelsey Nunley was the winning pitcher and only allowed two runs.
The Wildcats will play in the Regional Final tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
