The 2019 NBA Media Day began earlier on Friday, which means we got to hear from some of the NBA’s most interesting personalities.
One of those personalities, Miami Heat guard Jimmy Butler, is an Internet meme waiting to happen whenever he steps in front of a microphone and he did not disappoint while standing in front of a Heat-themed background.
The topic at hand was former Kentucky guard Tyler Herro, who the Heat drafted with the No. 13 overall pick in this past year’s draft. Butler had some passionate words to say about Boy Wonder and his trash talking.

If Jimmy Freaking Butler is saying that Herro *always* has something to say in terms of shit-talking, then we know it has to be true. Butler is infamous for talking trash, whether it’s beneficial to his team or not.
“Like, he [Herro] always has something to say,” Butler said. “And I respect it because that shows me he got that fight.”
Butler also said some gushing words about former Kentucky center Bam Adebayo; talking about his motor and how personable Adebayo is as a person and player. Adebayo is expected to be a key piece to the future of the Heat alongside the four-time All-Star Butler. It also helps that Herro and Adebayo are notorious workers.
Jimmy Butler on working with Tyler Herro and other teammates: "I just want to get to know my guys. It's not hard getting guys in the gym with you here."

Now, where have we heard this before..?
And here’s my favorite quote of the day from another Kentucky alum, Heat executive Pat Riley.
Pat Riley on Tyler Herro: "He had a great summer … He's a very, very, very humble guy. I don't think he's said five words to me since we drafted him."

The team’s best player is in love with his new rookie and starting center? Check. The most important member of the front office likes them too? Another check. Go ahead and pencil in Herro as the Rookie of the Year darkhorse.
