WATCH: De’Aaron Fox partners with Make-A-Wish to spend time with a big fan

The BBN has always loved De’Aaron Fox for what he can do on the basketball court, and now he’s continuing to grow his impact off the court. The former Wildcat recently worked with the Make-A-Wish foundation to spend time with Ryder, a Sacramento Kings fan who has Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Based on the video, posted by the Kings’ twitter account, it looks like the duo had an eventful day of playing basketball, touring the facilities, going shopping and even playing some one-on-one video games.

“For someone to go through what he had to go through, and for all of the people in the world he could have chosen – all of the celebrities and all of the athletes – him picking me out of many people he could have met, that’s definitely great,” Fox said. “It’s a special feeling.”

“He’s just a super nice guy, and he’s very motivational,” Ryder said. “I love what he does for the community, and how he plays basketball, of course.”

Us too, Ryder. Us too.

Wish he would have played here 2 or 3 years. He was fun to watch.

I’m sure De’Aaron has had other influences in his life who deserve credit (Cal doesn’t end up with good kids by chance) but I know the work Cal does with his teams on caring for others and their communities is inspiring and ignored by detractors. It’s a shame.
