Buzzer Beater Bam!!!
On Sunday afternoon, Miami Heat big man Bam Adebayo crushed the souls of the Brooklyn Nets with a buzzer-beating fallaway jumper over Jeff Green that pushed his squad to a 109-107 victory, putting an end to the Heat’s three-game losing streak. Miami was without star player Jimmy Butler due to an ankle injury, giving Adebayo the reigns to the offense and the final shot in crunch time.
His last two points were the most important, but the former Kentucky Wildcat also added another 19 on the game along with 15 rebounds, five assists, and two steals on a 9-16 shooting clip.

And oh yeah, he’s also pretty good at defense…
Along with the buzzer-beater, Bam Adebayo held the Nets to 3-17 shooting as the primary defender today.

Now in his fourth season with the Miami Heat, the 23-year old center has only continued to improve since being named an All-Star for the first time last season. Adebayo is up to 19.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game this year while shooting 56.6 percent from the floor overall.
His Miami squad has gone through some challenges this season due to COVID-19 and other various injuries, but the buzzer-beater from Adebayo on Sunday moves them to 29-28 on the year and just 1.5 games out of the sixth-seed in the Eastern Conference. With the recent introduction of the play-in tournament, teams that finish 7-10 in the conference standings are subjected to a mini-series in order to advance to the actual first playoff round. Adebayo’s shot was important for helping Miami potentially avoid that 7-10 hole and jump into 5th or 6th with roughly 20 percent of the regular season still left to play.
