In just a few minutes, the clock will reach zero and the Washington Wizards will have swept the Toronto Raptors. Tonight’s game wasn’t even close, as John Wall’s Wizards have held a double digit lead throughout most of the game. As I write, Washington has a 30+ point lead over Toronto with under 8 minutes remaining. For one former Wildcat, he’ll advance one series closer to the NBA Finals. For the others, the season will come to an end.
John Wall and the Wizards have played great in this opening series. It’ll be a clean 4-0 sweep of the Toronto Raptors, which includes Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes. For the night, John Wall earned another double-double, currently with 14 points and 10 assist. I’m pretty sure he’s done for the night, as the reserves will finish out the game.
On the other side, Toronto’s Patrick Patterson will end his season with a not-so-great-performance. It looks like he’ll finish with just 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Back to John Wall, he posted a very special Happy Birthday message to his late father on Instagram today. Such a great role model!
Happy Birthday Dad! Even though you are not here with me I know you are watching over me. Watching me grow up into manhood, watching me stumble along the way and reminding me to get back up and never quit. I will always carry the most important gifts you gave me, your name, spirit and your will to strive to be the best son and man that I can. Happy Birthday Dad, I will always be your Batman.
