All of the Big Blue Nation should be cheering for Eberlein Drive right now.
One of the most talented teams in the eighth edition of The Basketball Tournament, Eberlein Drive features three former Kentucky Wildcats on its roster: Archie Goodwin, Marquis Teague, and Marcus Lee. In their 2021 TBT debut on Saturday night, those three combined to score 30 points in a 86-68 win over the 16-seeded NG Saints. As a result, Eberlein Drive, the No. 1 seed in the Wichita Region, will advance to the second round of the 64-team, winner-take-all tournament that boasts a grand prize of $1 million.
Goodwin and Teague were the stars in the backcourt for Eberlein, with Goodwin adding 10 points, two assists, and three rebounds while Teague led the team in scoring with 18 points on 6-10 shooting to go along with three assists, one rebound, one block, and one steal. Lee added two points and three rebounds in 10 minutes off the bench.

Eberlein Drive also hosts a few other familiar faces on its roster: former Western Kentucky players in A.J. Slaughter and Jeremy Evans, former Eastern Kentucky forward Nick Mayo, and former Georgetown College guard Eljay Cowherd. Slaughter went for 16 points, five assists, and nine rebounds while Mayo posted nine points and seven rebounds. Evans also managed 11 points and nine rebounds.
This is about as close as it can get to a Kentucky-based TBT team–and they’re already onto the second round. Eberlein Drive will play again on Tuesday, July 20 at 7:00 p.m. EST on ESPN3 against the Stillwater Stars, an Oklahoma State alumni team.
