Today in the NBA Playoffs

Washington Post

Another day in May, another sports day of just the NBA Playoffs. Luckily for the casual fan with no deep invested interest in any team, this years playoffs have been, as Dick Vitale would say, “SUPER SCINTILLATING SENSATIONAL BABY”. Really though, they’ve been great. There are still a few former Cats competing for that golden trophy, so let’s see what’s on tap for today.

Washington Wizards vs Indiana Pacers

John Wall leads the Wizards at home against the Pacers. After stealing game one in Indianapolis, Washington has stumbled a bit the past two games, and simply must win tonight’s game to have a chance at upsetting the number one seed. Wall was raked across the eye in game 3 and could barely see for the whole second half. He has met numerous times with team doctors since then and appears to be good to go for today’s game. “We know it’s a series now. We win this game, and it’s a chance to put the pressure back on those guys,” said Wall. Go Wiz.

Oklahoma City Thunders vs LA Clippers

Much like the series featuring Indiana and Washington, OKC stumbled in game one to the upset minded Clippers, but stormed back to take games two and three. The Clippers need a home win in the Staples Center to regain some confidence and tie things up. Most are expecting Coach Doc Rivers to be prepared and not allow his team to face a 3-1 deficit, but that’s easier said than done against league MVP Kevin Durant. Three times in these playoffs the Clippers have taken a series lead and failed to win the next game, so consistency is not this team’s strong suit. Since they’ve lost two in a row, time for a win?

Easier said than done against Russell Westbrook is more accurate. KD has gotten more points but anyone who has watched the series know that westbrook has completely dominated the last 2 games in every aspect. KD will always get his points, but the d and hustle and all around game from westbrook is why they won the last 2
