The NBA regular season starts tonight, UK will be everywhere this season

Kings Comical Cousins Basketball

The National Basketball Association’s 82-game regular season gets underway tonight and 22 former Kentucky Wildcats are on opening day rosters, more than any other college program.  Only Duke and North Carolina are close with 15 NBA players apiece.

Former Wildcats in the NBA

Eric Bledsoe, Phoenix Suns
Keith Bogans, Boston Celtics
DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings
Anthony Davis, New Orleans Pelicans
Archie Goodwin, Phoenix Suns
Josh Harrellson, Detroit Pistons
Chuck Hayes, Sacramento Kings
Terrence Jones, Houston Rockets
Enes Kanter, Utah Jazz
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Charlotte Bobcats
Brandon Knight, Milwaukee Bucks
Doron Lamb, Orlando Magic
DeAndre Liggins, (Free Agent/Recently waived by OKC)
Jodie Meeks, Los Angeles Lakers
Nazr Mohammed, Chicago Bulls
Darius Miller, New Orleans Pelicans
Nerlens Noel, Philadelphia 76ers
Daniel Orton, Philadelphia 76ers
Patrick Patterson, Sacramento Kings
Tayshaun Prince, Memphis Grizzlies
Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics
Marquis Teague, Chicago Bulls
John Wall, Washington Wizards

Only Marquis Teague, Nazr Mohammed, Doron Lamb and Jodie Meeks play tonight (the others requested off to watch the Blue-White scrimmage) but Wednesday night’s schedule is full of Cats.

It’s going to be a fun season, one with a lot of box scores to check, and I encourage everyone to get on the Kings’ bandwagon if you aren’t already because the team has three former Cats.  And they do stuff like this:

Don’t tease us with the Charlotte Hornets man. You had me really excited for a moment. I think they’ll be called that next year.
