Got five or ten minutes to spare this morning? Of course you do. It’s Friday. Whatever you’re supposed to be doing, you’re not doing it anyway. So why don’t you head on over to Bleacher Report and read its excellent piece on Nerlens Noel.
Jared Zwerling, Bleacher Report’s NBA writer, churned out a lot of words about Nerlens Noel, his recovery, and what it was like watching childhood friend and Sixers teammate Michael Carter-Williams run the point without him on the floor in Philadelphia this season. Nerlens told Zwerling he could see himself out there catching lobs from Michael Carter-Williams, and the pain of missing out only made him work harder during his recovery.
Zwerling also gives us a look into Noel’s relationship with first-time head coach Brett Brown and how Brown goes above and beyond what most coaches do for a player. Brown is mentoring Noel and rebuilding his shooting form, all while coaching the entire team. “I’m really lucky and thankful to have a coach like Brett Brown,” Noel said.
I’ll shut up now so you can get over there and read it yourself. It’s really good.
Nerlens is the man.
