Terrence Jones named G-League Player of the Week

What’s up with Terrence Jones these days? The former Cat was named G-League Player of the Week for his performances last week for the Erie Bayhawks.

On Wednesday, the real T. Jones came off the bench to record a triple double with 20 points, a career-high 14 assists, and a team-high 11 rebounds. On Saturday, he had a game-high 29 points, eight rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block. He’s the only G-League player averaging at least 20 points, eight rebounds, and five assists this season.

Fellow former Cats Isaac Humphries and Alex Poythress also play for the Erie Bayhawks, and the three met up with John Calipari’s college teammate Jeff Szumigale last week:

I might be writing this same post next week because this afternoon, Terrence messed around and got another triple double, the third of his career:

I predict he is back in the league later this year. He has some skills. I remember he had a leg injury and that may have a lot to do with where he is now.

How in the world is T-Jones in the G-League? Baffles me.

Thank goodness Humphries did not comeback after his career game in the tourney against UNC. :)I thought he left for a wonderful career in Aus. We really could have used him that next year!
