Two former Wildcats were in action against one another in the NBA last night, with Terrence Jones and the Houston Rockets topping Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans 107-98. Both Jones and Davis played well last night. Jones finished with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. Davis finished with 21 points and 2 blocks in the losing effort. Even with their own game moments away, Jones and Davis couldn’t help but ask one another if they’d heard about the pending Cats/Cards game.
“You see the score,” Jones said, wearing a smile large enough to give the answer. “We’re up by 10.”
According to Jones, he and his former national championship teammate have remained very close. “We’re very close, face time all the time,” Jones said. “It’s fun stepping on this court every day and putting on this jersey. The opportunity to play against an old teammate, one of my brothers, is great. Just to see him and our dreams come true is a great feeling.”
