DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis are teammates once again. All is right in the world.
The newest additions to the Los Angeles Lakers, the last time the two teamed up alongside Rajon Rondo, they put the Pelicans on their back. Even after Cousins was injured, New Orleans had enough momentum to give AD his first playoff series victory. Their numbers in the 2017-18 season were ridiculous:
- Davis: 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.6 blocks
- Cousins: 25.2 points, 12,9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.6 blocks
- Rondo: 8.3 points, 8.2 assists, 4 rebounds, 1.1 steals
Rondo’s ability to make opportunities for UK’s enormously athletic bigs created an incredibly entertaining basketball product. The best play of the year, and arguably in the history of basketball, was Cousins’ lob to Davis.
Rondo is pretty good at throwing lobs too.
Davis and Cousins combined to score more than 50 on multiple occasions. Their 69-point performance against the Pacers was one of their best scoring nights of the year.
In just their third game together, they combined to put up 70 against the Warriors.
This was a pretty fun night too.
Cousins and Rondo have been friends and foes. Rondo was a Celtic and Cousins was a King in their first altercation. Even after they teamed up, Boogie had to slide in a shove when the refs weren’t looking.
Cousins, Davis and Rondo did not always have a good relationship with LeBron. In October of 2017 Cousins recorded a 29-point, 12-rebound, 10-assist triple-double and AD went for 30-14 to beat LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers by 22 points.
This is the best highlight reel you’ll find, but the wise guy producer used NSFW lyrics. Watch at your own discretion.
