Rajon Rondo returns to action Friday night

What do you think he’s listening to?

What do you think he's listening to?

What do you think he’s listening to?

Almost a year after he tore his ACL, Rajon Rondo is poised to return to the court.  Celtics president Danny Ainge said that Rondo will play in Friday’s game against the Lakers, his first game under new head coach Brad Stevens.  Earlier this week, Rondo worked out with the Celtics’ D-League team, and went through warm ups before their game against Toronto last night.

Ainge said he expects Rondo to play about five minutes per quarter before he gets back to All-Star form:  “I expect him to come back quicker than anyone expects. He’s a great competitor.”

Speaking of All-Stars, check out the NBA’s All-Star game jerseys this season:

Will this jersey-with-sleeves trend just die already?

Those All-Star jerseys are just wrong. The NBA is dying for fans to accept the sleeved jersey so they plaster the sleeves with company logos and ads. They look like super cheap bowling shirts. Crappy logo too.

Dude, it’s 2014. Those uni’s are AWESOME! Old school prison shirts and shorts are OUT. Plus aside from looking fantastic, they are very comfortable and wick the moisture away from your skin.

Yeah. Moisture wicking shirts have been around 10-15 years. Maybe you should stop telling people what year it is. Players don’t like them. Check the polls. Fans don’t like them. Check the polls. Dude.

It’s scary that you actually know and apparently care what a soccer jersey even looks like.

i play ball in those dri-fit shirts fairly often and i think they work really well … the design could use some work, but those are probably going to catch on even more

Dusty, my boy, it’s called the fleur de lis. It’s a French Symbol, so of course it is represented in New Orleans….not being a dick – just FYI.

If the NBA made me wear them I’d cut the sleeves out right before I ran out to the court. Those look like shooting shirts for warm ups. Turrible.

What is next? Are they going to play in those t-shirts that say “Property of (insert team name)”? One of the earlier posters is on the right track saying the next thing is advertising logos to generate more dollars. Big corporations would love to add their brand or trademarked logo to the front or back of these jerseys. So, make the jersey bigger so they can get bigger advertising space. The bigger the logo, the bigger the fee, just like NASCAR cars and driving suits.

Just wait till they start making them play in sweat pants plastered with logos.

The NBA knows the respectable world doesn’t want to see all of the Thug-life tats on their ‘representatives’…. The sleeves are just a quiet way to keep em’ covered
