Almost a year after he tore his ACL, Rajon Rondo is poised to return to the court. Celtics president Danny Ainge said that Rondo will play in Friday’s game against the Lakers, his first game under new head coach Brad Stevens. Earlier this week, Rondo worked out with the Celtics’ D-League team, and went through warm ups before their game against Toronto last night.
Ainge said he expects Rondo to play about five minutes per quarter before he gets back to All-Star form: “I expect him to come back quicker than anyone expects. He’s a great competitor.”
