Photo of the Day: How did Jamal Murray make that shot?

By now you have probably seen Jamal Murray’s over-the-backboard bucket early in Denver’s Game 4 win last night. If not, here it is:

It was a crazy shot and this photo makes it even crazier when you see the degree of difficulty from Murray’s viewpoint behind the basket. But Kentucky fans know it is not all that uncommon for Murray to hit shots no one else can. When Murray was at UK, Coach Cal often talked about how Murray has a knack for attempting and hitting improbable shots. One time Cal said, “If he’s falling down, he throws one over his head, it may go in now.”

Another time Cal got on him in practice for throwing up an off-balanced shot with the opposite hand. Cal told him it wasn’t a good shot, to which Murray pointed out, “But it went in.” When Cal said he may only make one of those, Murray told him, “Coach, you haven’t seen me play enough.”
