Old man Vince Carter ejected for elbowing Devin Booker

Before we get started here, I want to make it clear that I love Vince Carter. Big Vince Carter guy talking to you right now. The dunk contest in 2000 was basketball porn to a young Drew Franklin.

But Vince is in the doghouse with one of his biggest fans after his antics last night in the Suns-Grizzlies game, when he landed a cheap shot on Devin Booker, a friend of the program.

See for yourself:

Was Booker running his mouth beforehand? Probably. (Okay, definitely.) Did Booker sell that fall? Yeah, sure.

But Vince Carter knows better than to raise his elbow like that. The Vince Carter I know and love would’ve waited until the next trip down the court and then jumped over him.

Maybe Vince is still upset from the last time the Suns and Grizzlies met.

      I doubt you know Booker.

I humbly apologize catsarerunnin….. I should have said “From watching a ton of basketball games on TV where Devin Booker constantly runs his mouth”. You win the internet for the day. Now you can get back to answering the question of why your mother threw you in that dumpster and why in the world anyone ever bothered to pulled you out!

kingave66: Most all of the greatest players in NBA history were also notorious trash talkers. Iverson, Jordan, Garnett, Barkley, etc.

      Get over yourself, snowflake.

I like a little trash talk with my basketball. I also like a little humor…..thank you, Tom Crean.

“Snowflake”- Seriously? That’s very original. I’ll bet you are a SUPERSTAR on Twitter…. I’m not pulling the SJW card or thumping Bibles at Booker, just pointing out that he was likely trash talking and got a shot from a veteran.

That was your FIRST comment. Nice attempt at backtracking. [email protected]

Memphis fan and Vince Carter a Tar Heel is a class dude. My friends were at the game and said Booker was running his mouth.

Pretty much every NBA player talks trash it’s part of the game. The best player of all time was also the biggest trash talker. Jordan’s teammates didn’t even like him. And Devin is a great guy too. He’s always been nice to the fans.

Devin been involved in several scraps of late. I don’t get to see them play much but I would speculate that people are trying to punk him and he’s trying to let people know he will not be punked. Just my guess. If he is running his mouth as Memphis UK Cat says, he should just shut up and play

What a flop. Sad that refs are fooled so easily.

Booker should get an Academy Award for that acting. It is as bad as any you will see in Hollywood

Not as bad as it looked, but definitely not a flop. Booker was on the move with both feet off of the ground when Carter hit him and stopped the momentum of his upper body. His lower body continued forward, hence the awkward fall. Booker does talk trash continually, as most do.

I didn’t even know Carter was still around, WOW!

I don’t see why everyone has an issue with Booker’s trash talk. Trash talk is a part of basketball, and it only gets worse with the higher level of competition. I’d much rather have a team full of super competitive guys that talk a ton of trash and get in opponents’ heads than a team full of choir boys that are just happy to be out on the court.

It’s basketball, everyone talks smack out there and if you cant handle it you dont need to play. But from the first replay I saw it looked like he hit him in the face. Booker did seem to reach in and foul him before hand, but still, Carter has been around forever and should know better.
