Former Kentucky star Nerlens Noel has a new NBA home, his third since launching his professional career in 2013.
Noel signed a two-year deal to join the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he will suit up with Russell Westbrook, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony and two other fellow Wildcats in Patrick Patterson and Dakari Johnson. The deal includes a player option in Year 2.
Noel spent the past season and a half in Dallas, where he averaged a career-low 15 minutes per game in 2017-18, and was hit with a five-game suspension for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program in April.
Hopefully his future with the Thunder will provide a fresh start and he can get back to being the exciting rim protector we know he can be, while contributing on a Western Conference contender.
Good luck to him.
