Congrats to Nerlens Noel, who officially signed with the 76ers today. Nerlens will make $3,172,320 in his first year; $3,315,120 in his second; $3,457,800 in his third (option); and $4,384,490 in the fourth (option).

    So much for the argument that kids should forego another year in college because they might injure themselves and ruin their financial futures, or at least drop in the draft and lose a ton of money. It was always a specious argument, but we are guaranteed to hear it again next year.

    Nerlens’ injury and the contract he had to settle for because of it, well, it just breaks my heart. (sniff) A tragedy, really.
