15 of Kentucky’s league-best 22 alumni on NBA rosters earned a spot in this weekend’s box score, led by former 2010-11 Wildcat standout Brandon Knight of the Milwaukee Bucks.

On Friday, Brandon recorded a monster double-double on the road in a 111-114 losing effort to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The 6’3″, 189-lb. point guard grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds and scored 17 points, complemented by 8 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block in 35 minutes of play. Most importantly, Knight committed 0 turnovers in the process. On Saturday, Brandon’s Bucks bounced back with a 116-106 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. Knight poured in 21 points in the win (to go along with 6 assists and 4 rebounds in another 0-turnover performance), making him 1 of 5 former ‘Cats to score 20+ points in a game this weekend.

Enes Kanter of the Utah Jazz and DeMarcus Cousins of the Sacramento Kings joined Brandon in the double-double club this weekend, thanks to a 13-point, 13-rebound performance by Kanter on Friday, and a 14-point, 11-rebound showing by Cousins the next day. Also on Friday, the Detroit Pistons’ Josh Harrellson scored in double digits for the second time this season, thanks in part to 2-3 shooting from behind the 3-point line, bringing his scoring total to 12 points on the night in a 106-116 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats. Interestingly enough, the Toronto Raptors’ Patrick Patterson was the only NBA ‘Cat to see an NBA floor on Sunday, tallying 5 points and 2 rebounds along the way.

If you’re interested in more Kentucky NBA action, the New Orleans Pelicans will be traveling to Sacramento, CA to take on the Kings at 10:00 p.m. tonight on NBA TV. The contest will pit two of the Wildcats’ most heralded big men in recent history, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, against one another in their first head-to-head matchup of the 2013-14 season.

I’ve had a chance to see these guys play when they’ve played the Charlotte Bobcats, and they all have been impressive.

Kanter looked good against the Bobcats and made me realize that we missed seeing an outstanding player because of the NCAA and their biased rules when UK is concerned.

Lol at the people who said bk was too little back in the recruiting days. Can’t even remember who the other guy was they wanted. Kid could probably curl your max bench.

14 boards and 8 assists are solid, but 6-20 shooting isn’t the greatest of lines for BK

Your definition of the word alumni seems a little loose.
