Knicks head coach flying to Latvia to show Kristaps Porzingis film of Kevin Knox

Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale is flying to Latvia to show Kristaps Porzingis summer league film of Kevin Knox.

According to Marc Berman on The New York Post, Fizdale is flying to Latvia next Sunday to meet with Porzingis

On the visit, Fizdale plans to sit with Porzingis and show him a lot of film. He wants to show him summer-league footage, too, how he and Knox can become a dynamic duo for the next several years.

“It’s going to be a big part of the next step to show him the big picture,” Fizdale said of his trip. “How I want to utilize him, coach him, start building a relationship with him, a bond with him, a connection with him.”

Porzingis won’t return to NBA play until around Christmas due to a torn ACL, but Fizdale is excited about the young duo.

“I see they will complement each other very well,” Fizdale said in Vegas. “That’s not a bad pick-and-roll to run — a KK-Porzingis pick-and-roll.”

I’d say the Knicks organization is very excited about the future of Kevin Knox in New York. I bet all the fans who booed him at the draft regret that decision.

They beat it, resuscitate it, beat it to death again, stuff it, beat it like a drum once more with feeling, then shove it in storage just to occasionally roll it out and attempt to see if they can beat life back into the thing.
