Though his sophomore campaign has just begun, rumors began spreading like wildfire on Friday that Willie Cauley-Stein could be on his way out of Sacramento. The former Kentucky big man reportedly expressed his displeasure with his role on the team to management, wanting more minutes and opportunities to better showcase his talent.

ESPN’s Marc Stein gave us this little tidbit:

Keep an eye on Kings big man Willie Cauley-Stein. Word is Sacramento is open to moving the second-year big man, who wants more of a role than he has under new Kings coach Dave Joerger.

Though it has been reported that teams are making offers for WCS, a Sacramento Kings source 0ut of CSN California recently said the franchise plans on keeping the former 6th overall pick, for now at least.

CSN California has learned that the Kings intend to hold onto the 23-year-old big. They regard him as one of their best defenders and they like his efficiency and energy off the bench.

With the Kings franchise, you never know what you’re going to get. They’re jam-packed in the front court, leading reason to believe a move involving one of those pieces was bound to happen sooner or later.

We’ll keep you updated as rumors leak, but as of now, the WCS jersey you bought for Christmas is still good to go.
