Keith Bogan is 35-years-old and is playing in the NBA Summer League for the Portland Trailblazers. The last time he played in the Las Vegas league was 11 years ago when the event first was held in Vegas.

“I didn’t think I was too good to come play Summer League,” Bogans said. “It was my idea. It ain’t like, ‘Keith, you gotta play Summer League,’ you know? I wanted to play.”

After not playing in an NBA game in 18 months, Bogans doesn’t “want to remain out of sight and out of mind.” Back in 2014, Bogan publicly expressed his frustration with lack of playing time with the Boston Celtics which lead to a leave of absence. Bogans wants to repair his reputation.

“I’ve never had a confrontation, I don’t get in trouble,” Bogans said. “To go to a young team, and you ask me to go home, that looks bad on my résumé. It looked like I didn’t want to be there, when the whole time all I wanted to do was help, whether you play me or you don’t play me. And of course that makes me mad. And that’s why I’m back right now. The way it ended, that’s not me,” Bogans continued. “And I can’t let my career end on that.”

Bogans and the Portland Trailblazers take on Darius Miller and Dallas Mavericks tonight at 10:00pm ET. You can read the whole article from CBS Sports here.

You might want to explain who Keith Bogan is to the new “UK fans” that only been around since 2012.

The new Kentuckians born since 2012 are not yet old enough to read or surf the internet. The rest of us know who he is.
