Julius Randle Thinks an All-UK NBA Team Could Take Down the Warriors

Count me in for this matchup over Mayweather vs. McGregor. Earlier today, while Randle was hosting his skills camp at the Joe Craft Center, he was asked about the prospect of a team made up entirely of former Wildcats taking on the Golden State Warriors.

His response? The former Cats would win easy.

Strong words from a strong player, right there. And thinking about the depth of a potential UK super team, I can’t say I disagree with him. The lineup possibilities are endless.

I’d personally lead off with Wall/Booker/MKG/Davis/Towns. But finding new combos is half the fun. Let your take be heard.

There are many plausible lineups and a galaxy of stars to choose from. I’m taking the “big” lineup and forcing AD to the “3”….which he can absolutely handle.

So let’s go with Boogie at center, KAT at PF, AD at SF, Wall at PG, and Monk at the 2………little twist at the end, but think about it…….

Monk over Booker? Idk man, Monk hasn’t played a single game in the NBA, while Booker has had the only 70 point game since Kobe.

Why Davis? Rumor is he took 5th most shots on his team at UK. I’d go KAT, Davis,Booker, Bledsoe, Wall

Im going to start what I would call the body blow guys tobwear down the GSW starters. Wall sprinting around, MKG getting up on them on the perimeter, AD being Durants belt buckle, Randle just bear wrassling Dreymond for the whole first quarter, and boogie absolutely wearing out Zaza. That would mean the second 5 for us would be Fox, Booker, Murray, Bam, and KAT coming in to score in droves.

Now way Bam makes this team. Nerlens, WCS, Patterson, Jones or even Skal or Dakari would be a big coming off the bench before Bam

While i personally like everyone you mentioned better than bam (save skal), for the purpose of my second teamp, i would take bam over them due to size and scoring range combo

Your DETROIT BASKETBALL! game is on point. However those days are way gone. AD can guard a 3 but do you want him to go that hard on defense for 30 or min a game, no sir. In today’s nba it’s about flow and movement and restricting easy 3 point attempts. Those currently come from the 2 and 4 spots for stretching purposes.

So who can both get us buckets and guard those spots?

Dev is a great scorer but can’t guard his own shadow, you would think playing against Tyler would have helped that but, not yet. Wall is the starting point nuff said. So 2 guard….MKG no, can’t shoot, Booker no, can’t defend. Knight, can’t shoot. Bledsoe, eh maybe? Good defense , so so shooter. Yep it’s Bledsoe. So Rajon, too old buddy.

3 Spot, is our 3 a give away spot? Don’t expect any scoring just D then MKG is our guy. a def liability and Miller doesn’t have that “dunk on you” thing. So who is left? MKG, Young(kidding). Out of position players like Davis, Cousins, or PPat. Nope the only choice is MKG.

4 This spot gets hairy, what do we want? I think the only choice is Davis. Sorry PPat but Anthony gets your starting spot. He’s being breed as an NBA 4 so let’s keep it there.

5 The Obvious choice is Karl, but let me sell ya on this. Karl is also being pushed into the 4 role with Gorgi playing center. So Let me sell you the one, the only big who can guard all 5 spots WCS! WCS gives us some reach for blocks along with Anthony and the ability to run the fast break and guard anyone.

      Guards: Booker, Knight, Bledsoe, Meeks
      Forwards: Kanter, Patterson, Cousins
      Centers:Noel, Johnson,D.

No way Bam makes this team… Nerlens, WCS, Patterson, Jones or even Skal or Dakari make it before him as big coming off the bench

A UK All-Star team couldn’t beat the Warriors today, but give them a while to practice and develop schemes and such, and it would be a fun game.

Golden State is all about matchups. Have to go with Ullis, Booker, Randall, AD, and KAT. I love Wall, but he goes around screens like a ballerina.
