A little over an hour ago, former Kentucky point guard Rajon Rondo agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now, Julius Randle will be leaving the Lakers and taking Rondo’s roster spot in New Orleans.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the former Wildcat power forward has agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with the Pelicans.

Wojnarowski reports Anthony Davis recruited Randle to the Pelicans as soon as he became an unrestricted free agent this afternoon.

Randle dominated the latter-half of the season last year, being just one of five players to average 19 points, nine rebounds, and three assists in the NBA.

The other four were pretty solid names.

With the move, it appears DeMarcus Cousins is on his way out of New Orleans. There are rumors that the Lakers are set to move Luol Deng’s contract to create cap space to bring Boogie to L.A., and Rondo’s move there only solidifies that. Cousins is reportedly a big fan of Rondo and loves playing with him. They played together in Sacramento, and then again in New Orleans.

Now it’s looking like they’ll be playing together in Los Angeles.

Losing Rondo was a huge blow for the way NO Pels play, maybe they grab Tyler Ulis! Love picking up Randle but probably means Cousins is on his way out…..

Yeah, adding Randle makes no sense if Boogie is staying put. I hate that Rondo is gone.

Cousins went to the warriors. If cousins is healthy then warriors are basically unbeatable (if they wasn’t before)
