Devin Booker will have a Wildcat teammate this summer. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell have been invited to play on the USA Select Team.
Booker and Randle will train alongside the Olympic Team, acting as the young guns in scrimmages against America’s best. You could call them a JV team, but they’d be the best JV team in the world.
The addition to the Select Team is an exceptional reward for a player who didn’t have it easy during his first full year in the NBA. On a terrible team with a coach that public scrutinized his attitude, Randle still managed to average 11.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. He finished 10th in the NBA in rebounds, 15th in double-doubles.
