John Wall looks ready to return to the NBA

The NBA is back, resuming play inside the Orlando Bubble. The Washington Wizards are in action, just without their rehabilitating star, John Wall. Don’t be fooled, the former Wildcat is staying busy while his teammates struggle to make a run at the eight-seed in the Eastern Conference.

Wall has not played in an NBA basketball game since rupturing his Achilles almost 18 months ago in December of 2018. In May Wall said he was “110%” healthy. If he was 110% healthy in May, this video from over the weekend leaves me to believe he’s actually closer to 190% healthy.

Wall’s incredible dunking ability never ceases to amaze me. Casual 360? No problem. A 360 and behind-the-back slam? Try that on a 7-foot goal, I dare you. Wall made it look easy in the Slam Dunk Contest. On top of his leaping ability, the 29-year-old has never looked better physically. He’s thick, yet chiseled and burying threes.

The NBA will be a better place once Wall returns for the start of the 2020-21 season (whenever that may be).

Here’s hoping that when Wall gets back on the court for real games, he can take that next step to superstar status. When he got drafted, I thought he’d be UK’s Jordan. He’s still been incredible, but he hasn’t reached his ceiling. Hopefully, he’s healthy and strong next season and can stay that way. Wall’s best days are hopefully ahead of him.

May be too late in his career to become a superstar
