Jamal Murray receives NBA All-Rookie honors

Congratulations to Jamal Murray, who was just named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. Murray just missed the cut for the First Team, which consists of Malcolm Brogdon, Dario Saric, Joel Embiid, Buddy Hield, and Willy Hernangomez. Here are the complete poll results, via Marc J. Spears:

Murray’s response to finishing just shy of the First Team?

Murray averaged 9.9 points in his rookie year off 40.4% shooting. He was named Western Conference Rookie of the Month for November and was nominated for the same honor in March. You’ll appreciate that chip on his shoulder a little more after watching every single three-pointer he made this year (all 115 of them):

Comment may work but it does not always come up. Jonathan Miller piece on Jefferson Davis statute does not allow a comment with there being no comment box.

He probably should have received 1st team, but I don’t think it’s laughable. He had some great games, but also had some clunkers. He finished 6th in the voting, and was 6th out of all rookies in scoring, so that’s about par for the course.
