Jamal Murray invited to participate at All-Star Weekend

Jamal Murray is going to New Orleans.

The former Wildcat is one of six NBA rookies who have been invited to participate in the Rising Stars Challenge. Murray will suit up with Team World in the Friday night exhibition game between first- and second-year players. He will be joined on Team World by Trey Lyles, also of Kentucky fame, and two of his Denver teammates, Emmanuel Mudiay and Nikola Jokic.

Karl-Anthony Towns and Devin Booker headline the Team USA roster.

U.S. Team Roster
Devin Booker (Suns)
Malcolm Brogdon (Bucks)
Marquese Chriss (Suns)
Brandon Ingram (Lakers)
Frank Kaminsky (Hornets)
Jahlil Okafor (76ers)
D’Angelo Russell (Lakers)
Jonathon Simmons (Spurs)
Karl-Anthony Towns (Timberwolves)
Myles Turner (Pacers)

World Team Roster
Joel Embiid (76ers)
Danté Exum (Jazz)
Buddy Hield (Pelicans)
Nikola Jokic (Nuggets)
Trey Lyles (Nuggets)
Emmanuel Mudiay (Knicks)
Jamal Murray (Nuggets)
Kristaps Porzingis (Knicks)
Domantas Sabonis (Thunder)
Dario Saric (76ers)

That makes four former Wildcats in the game, for those of you scoring at home.

So KAT plays for the Dominican in international play, but for the U.S in the Rising Stars game. Makes sense.
