Isaiah Briscoe shined in Portland’s “Fan Fest” game

Former Kentucky guard Isaiah Briscoe is in a battle to steal the final roster spot with the Portland Trail Blazers, and his promising debut in black and red was one big step in that direction.

Briscoe was one of the stars of last night’s “Fan Fest” game, the Blazers’ intrasquad scrimmage to kick off the preseason. The undrafted rookie finished with 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, including two made three-pointers; plus six assists, five rebounds and two steals.

Watch Briscoe’s highlights from the game, courtest of @NJHoopRecruit:

The Blazers will play their first preseason game of the fall against the Phoenix Suns tonight at 10 pm.

Archie Goodwin, another former Wildcat on the Blazers’ training camp roster, is one of the handful of players fighting with Briscoe for the fifteenth spot on the team.

Good for Briscoe. I wish him all the best. I know he didn’t leave on the best of terms, but I do want to see him succeed. Keep working my man.

Something tells me it was an intrasquad scrimmage to tip off the season, rather than your characterization. Just a hunch.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I’m just glad he’s playing somewhere other than here.

He does travel a lot, so he fits right with the nba.

Wow did Briscoe just dunk? Can’t recall him doing that a single time while he was a Wildcat. I hope the kid makes it. He has big dreams, and is not without ability. He is a guy who can do a lot of things well. Always been a great facilitator and excellent rebounder for a guard of his size.
