Hamidou Diallo wins 2019 Slam Dunk Contest

Hamidou Diallo took home the grand prize in Saturday night’s NBA Dunk Contest at All-Star Weekend. The former Wildcat beat out the favorite, Dennis Smith Jr., in the final round. He advanced by outscoring Smith Jr., John Collins and Miles Bridges in the two-dunk first round.

Hami is a great example of a player excelling more in the NBA than college. The NBA game has so much better pacing and spacing for a guy like Hami. Congrats slam dunk champ!

I didn’t like the fact that when they introduced him they said he was from New York and not Ky. I’m not sure if it was just the announcer or if he told them to say that but it kinda rubbed me the wrong way. Not one mention of Ky with him all night. Oh well. Great job Hamidou. Damn man you showed out!! Lol. Congratulations brother!! Now keep playing like you have been and be first team Rookie! He’s been playing great and is a hell of a player that’s just touching the surface!!
