Move over Klay Thompson, there’s a new face of ANTA.

On Friday, it was reported by Nick DePaula of ESPN that former Kentucky Wildcat and current member of the Detroit Pistons, Hamidou Diallo, was signing a footwear deal with the Chinese-based sportswear company, ANTA.

Diallo is now the second former ‘Cat to sign a deal with ANTA, joining Los Angeles Clippers guard Rajon Rondo. ANTA also has current deals with fellow NBA players Klay Thompson and rookie James Wiseman of the Golden State Warriors, along with Gordon Hayward of the Charlotte Hornets.

Diallo had previously been signed to Under Armour since his rookie year back in 2018.

Diallo began the 2020-21 season with the team that initially drafted him, the Oklahoma City Thunder, but was shipped off to the Pistons in the middle of March, not long before the NBA’s trade deadline. Since moving to Detroit, the 22-year old shooting guard has continued what was already a career-best start to the season. In 10 games with the Pistons, Diallo is averaging 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per contest while shooting 49.3 percent from the floor.

Will you snag Diallo’s first signature shoe when it drops?

Nothing like crossin’ up fools in a pair of shoes made from cotton that was picked by Muslim slaves….Yikes.

ANTA uses slave labor to produce the fabric for their shoes. So the NBA players who want to tell us all to be more mindful of how slavery negatively affected their ancestors are now peddling a product produced by slavery…sounds hypocritical doesn’t it?

That’s not very woke of you… If you were woke then you’d only point out the things that feed your motive/agenda and blatantly ignore what doesn’t. Shame on you.

Xinjiang province, where the Uighurs live, produces 20 percent of the world’s cotton. The cotton products go to some major international brands, such that perhaps we all are consumers of this slave-produced commodity. It would be nice but most likely ineffective for the NBA players to boycott and speak out against ANTA and the forced labor of the Uighurs. But China is so powerful that even Muslim countries do not go against it.
