The reigning NBA Dunk Champion is about to be one of the most exciting (or demoralizing, depending on which side you’re on) players to use in the upcoming video game NBA 2K20.
According to the 2K Twitter page, former Kentucky guard Hamidou Diallo has been given a 95 dunk rating, the fifth-highest amongst all current players in the game.

If you recall, Diallo put on an unreal performance in Charlotte, North Carolina in the 2019 NBA Slam Dunk Contest this past February. His victory was highlighted with the 6-foot-6 pogo stick dunking over Shaquille O’Neal while sticking his entire arm in the rim while dressed as Superman – an homage to a few of the great dunkers of previous contests.
Let’s relive some of those vicious slams…
To the surprise of no one, the No. 1 overall pick from June’s draft and brand new New Orleans Pelican, Zion Williamson, was gifted the highest dunk rating with a 97. Following behind the former Duke forward comes Zach LaVine (Bulls – 96 dunk rating), former Louisville guard Donovan Mitchell (Jazz – 96), Aaron Gordon (Magic – 95), and then Diallo.
Heading into his second season with the Oklahoma City Thunder behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chris Paul, Diallo could find some more court time this season with a year of experience under his belt. There’s no denying the dude can fly higher than most, now let’s see if he can show off more than just his insane dunking abilities.
