Enes Kanter believes he would’ve been killed in jail

Enes Kanter believes he would’ve been murdered in jail had he been captured while he was on the run in Romania and around other parts of Europe last month.

“I would be in a jail,” Kanter told VICE News, “and probably the second day you’ll hear from the news, ‘Oh, he just got poisoned and he just died. He got food poisoning.’ Or, ‘He was [depressed] and hanged himself.'”

Lucky for him, Kanter was able to return to the United States and avoid extradition to Turkey, where the government has accused him of being a member of a “terror group.” But it’s crazy to think what could’ve happened to the NBA star if he hadn’t made it back from his trip.

A bit of an overreaction. Doubt murdered but likely intimidated and maybe even roughed up a little…

No I think he is right. The fact that the murdering thug responsible got a red carpet reception at the White House is disgusting.

Agreed foreseeable. Enes is better off not travelling outside of the US at least for the foreseeable future.
