Former Cat DeMarcus Cousins is one of the most valuable free agents left on the NBA’s market, but he still hasn’t found his home for next season. Could it be the San Antonio Spurs?
Although they don’t currently have the cap space to sign him, the Spurs’ fan base appears to be awaiting his potential arrival with open arms.
Check out this “Boot Scoot Boogie” billboard that was spotted Friday morning, courtesy of Arrowhead Outdoor on Instagram. It’s located in San Marcos, Texas, which is about an hour drive away from the heart of San Antonio.

The billboard only adds fuel to the “Boogie to the Spurs” fire, following an earlier report from The Athletic’s Shams Charania that said several teams are “intrigued” by Cousins.
Charania added Cousins has been in contact with fellow players from around the league, most notably the Spurs’ DeMar DeRozan. Cousins and DeRozan were teammates back in 2016, when they both earned gold medals with the U.S. Olympic Team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Again, the Spurs do not currently have the cap space to sign Boogie, and they also have a full roster with the recent addition of DeMarre Carroll and their renewed deal with Rudy Gay.
Still, A Brooks and Dunn reference, the chance to play for Coach Gregg Popovich and a reunion with a former teammate and friend? Sounds like a good gig for Boogie if the Spurs are committed to making it happen.
