DeMarcus Cousins reportedly expected to miss the rest of the postseason

The news we feared appears to be true.

Shortly after the start of the Golden State Warriors’ second playoff game, DeMarcus Cousins went down with a left quad injury. Cousins will undergo an MRI, but according to Yahoo’s Chris Haynes, the Warriors expect him to miss the remainder of the postseason.

There is one caveat. Haynes said, “there’s faint optimism that he could possibly return for the NBA Finals.”

Google tells me a strained quad takes about six weeks to heal. The Finals begins just over six weeks from now on May 31. However, if the quad was completely torn and requires surgery, that kind of recovery takes up to four to six months.

This stinks. There’s no other way to put it.

In the photo, his muscle appears recoiled (as if detached – i.e. torn)… But, I could certainly be wrong, (not an MD).

It did look that way, bot not difinitively, let’s hope for the best. Any player who played for the Kings as long as he did deserves their moment

I watched the Showtime special about DeMarcus before his game last night. He sure has some tough luck.

Hate it for him because he really is a good guy. Hate this happened the first time he’s in the playoffs.

Damn this freaking sucks especially after just coming back from such a tough injury. It couldn’t have happened at a worse time. Now he’ll most likely have a ring but it’ll mean almost nothing because he didn’t play most of the year nor the playoffs.
