I don’t like this one bit. Not only as a New Orleans Pelicans fan, but I don’t like the idea of DeMarcus Cousins and LeBron James playing together.
Here are my other reasons as to why Boogie needs to stay in New Orleans:
The Boogie and the Brow, Fire and Ice
When Cousins and Anthony Davis were jelling on the floor together, it was special. In a league that has become guard dominate, Cousins and Davis made it work.
Davis has been very vocal about wanting Cousins back. Don’t leave him, Boogie.
Cousins and the Ball Family Together Sounds Like a Terrible Idea
Cousins and Lonzo and Lavar Ball together in Los Angeles sounds like a terrible idea. I don’t think you need any more explanation as to why.
Los Angeles does not have beignets or Cafe du Monde. Easiest reason to stay in New Orleans in my opinion.
All the Kentucky players on the Pelicans
If DeMarcus Cousins leaves, that leaves only four former Cats on the Pelicans roster. The possibility of having all former Kentucky players on the floor for New Orleans would be ruined. Don’t leave Davis, Rajon Rondo, DeAndre Liggins, Darius Miller and maybe Derek Willis, Boogie!
Boogie was rehabbing this year during Mardi Gras, but he seemed to really enjoy it last year. Pretty sure LA doesn’t have parades, beads or floats. Also, I heard traffic in LA is terrible.
Cousins respects Alvin Gentry
One of the problems Cousins was rumored to have in Sacramento was issues with the coaches and front office. It has been said that Cousins likes and respects Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry. Can you imagine Boogie and Luke Walton working together? Me neither.
How can you leave gumbo, jambalaya, po’ boys, étouffée for kale and green drinks?
Please don’t go to Los Angeles, Boogie. The Pelicans need you.
