DeMarcus Cousins leads fan voting for Team USA’s starting center

Will DeMarcus Cousins crack the starting five at this year’s Olympics?

If this week’s fan voting on ESPN.com predicts the future, he will.

Cousins currently owns 57 percent of the vote for Team USA’s starting center position, leading DeAndre Jordan and Draymond Green for the honor. The vote for Boogie is up to 78 percent in Kentucky, where, of course, he played his college ball at UK; he has 61 percent of the vote in his home state of Alabama.

If the voting fans have their way, the United States’ starting lineup in Rio will look like this:

G – Kyrie Irving
G – Klay Thompson
F – Kevin Durant
F – Draymond Green
C – DeMarcus Cousins

You can submit your vote for the rotation here.

D Green and Cousins on the court at the same time? I feel bad for the opposing teams. Hopefully they don’t understand english slang…

Kyrie/Klay/Durant are locks imo. You will have some combo of Green/Melo and Boogie/Jordan starting.

Do you have to play in the NBA to be on the Olympic Team? Rick has coached up some good talent.
