DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall unlikely to play in the Alumni Game (UPDATED)

Cousins Wall Draft

Earlier today, John Calipari said that two former UK players probably couldn’t participate in the Alumni Game due to stipulations in their contract. This evening, WKYT’s Steve Moss says DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall are not likely to play in Monday night’s game due to contract issues.

Don’t worry, they’ll still come. Cal said whichever players can’t play will serve as assistant coaches.

Something tells me Coach Wall will be a little more strict than Coach Cousins.

UPDATE: Steve Moss has retracted his statement about Wall on Twitter and says that he is a definite “go” to play on Monday. No word on Cousins.

Then why have this 2010-2012 discussion anyway? So much for an alumni game. I don’t wanna watch Ramon Harris guard Shagari Alleyne.

This is stupid, but I don’t blame these guys. It’s stupid by the NBA. This is a glorified pick-up game. While it is possible that a guy could permanent injure himself, he could also get run over crossing the street. I assume the NBA doesn’t bar that. Yet.

I knew it. I went to the Heros vs Villians game a couple years ago and the same thing happened. At least this time people will be warned. At the Heros game nobody knew until later why Wall was just watching and not playing. I wasn’t fooled this time. Saved my money for big blue madness and the nba exhibition game.

2010 vs 2012 team without wall and cousins. I’m canceling my hotel right now. This is total bs. I’m was driving from charleston, sc I took off work. They can take my tickets and shove them where the sun don’t shine.
