DeMarcus Cousins agrees to deal with Golden State Warriors

DeMarcus Cousins has single-handedly decided the 2018-19 NBA season.

The former Kentucky big man has signed a one-year deal with the Golden State Warriors.

According to a source close to Cousins, the decision was “about winning.”

Obviously.

Cousins missed the latter half of the NBA season last year with a torn Achilles, and will return to the court by December/January. He averaged 25.2 points and 13 rebounds in 48 games with the Pelicans.

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, and DeMarcus Cousins. All in the same lineup.

Wow.

Disagree. i Hate LeBron more than I hate golden state. Boogie going to the Warriors makes it easier to root for golden state and easier to root against LeBron. Great move from my perspective.

Wow! An ALL-Star Starting lineup.NBA better be careful. My 22 year old son just said this has made the NBA no fun. This could hurt the NBA with their target audience. Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

This is a true “F*** you, LeBron.” by Warriors. Keep the Lakers from signing Cousins and make it even more difficult for the Lakers to get out of the West.

With Cousins and Draymond what are the odds that the Warriors break the single season record for technical fouls by the all-star break?

      Don’t forget KD!!

      2018:

      2. Draymond Green – 15 Techs – 3 ejections

      3. Kevin Durant – 14 techs – 5 ejections

      14. Demarcus Cousins – 9 techs – 2 ejections

You might as well double Cousin’s because he missed half the season. Teams didn’t call him thuggins for completely nothing.

Are the pelicans not signing anyone? Other than randle? It’s hard to have a favorite team in the NBA when you’ve got so many guys from your favorite college team on so many teams lolol!

  19. AllBall

Pelicans have signed Julius Randle to help fill the Boogie void. I’m also hearing they are interested in signing Tyler Ulis since Rondo left.

Cuz wants a ring so sign a 1 yr deal, hopefully he gets that ring, finally a Ky player on a top team.

Demarcus will be there for 1 year. He will comeback mid season and 1. Show he is hitting on all cylinders, while also 2. Winning a championship.

He will then bounce to another team on a 3 year max contract to finish his career.

    • Soylentbeans
      10:08 pm July 2, 2018 Permalink

So you’re saying he only plays until he is 31?

    • bigbluebanana
      10:35 pm July 2, 2018 Permalink

That’s what I was going to say! If he’s healthy, he will play longer than that I think.

    • Bobbum Man
      11:28 pm July 2, 2018 Permalink

Other than the finish his career in 3 years thing ur exactly didn’t… he obviously didn’t get the offers he wanted so said I’ll spend a year showing I’m healthy, redo free agency and get the money I’d deserve… he basically has a year to burn, why not win a ring

    • JPGott2
      12:02 am July 3, 2018 Permalink

Uhhhh, the man has a torn Achilles. He might comeback 100, but he is not playing to 33-35. He is a true big (5) in the NBA. That type of injury makes it scary around 33. Extend my prediction by a year, but I stand by it.

    • Soylentbeans
      12:25 am July 3, 2018 Permalink

I get it but I think if he comes back healthy he is in the league until 33-35. Now starting or even getting big minutes in the league at that age with an injury like that behind you I’m not so sure.

  23. The rich get richer. I’m surprised they didn’t get Lebron! 😛

Soft move but why hate him he’s just setting up his payday. Gs doesn’t need him immediately so he can rehab and come back late for a title run probably win a championship and get a max deal elsewhere

Okay I was mad. I don’t want him to really get reinjured but he is still the only Ky player in history that I will never cheer for again. I thought he had heart

I’m not very educated on NBA, contracts etc. but why just a 1 year deal for Boogie?

    • Dark Soul
      4:56 pm July 4, 2018 Permalink

He turned down multuple teams for more money just to get on a unbeatable team. They are almost maxed on their cap so he is going there for one year to try to prove he is still a max player so he can get paid on his next contract.
