DeAndre Liggins named D-League Defensive Player of the Year

liggins-heat

Congratulations to DeAndre Liggins, who was named the NBA D-League’s Defensive Player of the Year today. Liggins appeared in 42 regular season games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, averaging 14.2 points, 4.8 assists, and 2.6 steals.

Liggins played one game for the Miami Heat this season, but the team released him to make room for center Justin Hamilton. If DeAndre keeps it up, it’s only a matter of time before he find himself on another NBA roster.

Here’s a highlight reel of his best defensive plays this season:

Average attendance at a Skyforce game is probably in the 1500 people range…I’ve been to some Skyforce games since I live in Sioux Falls now…We get free tickets & private box seating and it’s pretty fun. Liggins still plays like he did at UK under Cal, dude is still a monster on D. Last game I made it to this season the Skyforce were playing Ramon Harris’s team from IN, whatever their name is…

He’s better than a lot of guys in the NBA, his offenisive game isn’t bad and his defensive game is great. Not really sure why he’s not in the NBA, teams like the Knicks who can’t play defense could use him.

DeAndre Liggins had the best statistical season in NBA history this year. His PER was 129.1. His stats for the whole season: 1 minute played, 2 points on 1-1 shooting and one rebound.

This is why they use qualification parameters in records 😛

Please no more pub for Liggens. He reached a plea in the domestic violence case. If he did 10% of what he was accused of he is worse than Farmer, LeMaster, and Porter combined.

10% of beating up his baby’s momma? So like yelling?

Google the accusations. Accused of punching her 12 times, smashing an xbox over her head, dragging her by the hair, kicking her in the head, and his buddy helping out the whole time, in front of his son.

The plea was… If we drag this out in court you are going to lose because none of that happened. If it did the state would have pressed their own charges.

Yea ppl make mistakes. They grow n they learn from it. See the problen with society is they think that a person can’t change. But that’s wrong. Who says she didint swing at him or come at him. No one knows. Just bc a police report says something that doesn’t mean its the whole story. So you say once an abuser always an abuser. Typical idiotic thinking…

Heard lebron and the heat players didn’t like liggins bc he guarded to hard in practice. Which I believe bc jordan didn’t like players who guarded to hard in practice. But thats why heat let him go. Gotta keep the star players happy. I hope he goes to the pacers and they play the heat. Be awesome. I’m not a pacers fan at all. But I would like to see deandre shut a couple players on the heat down!!!!
