Dakari Johnson traded to the Orlando Magic

A former Cat is on the move. According to Shams Charania, Oklahoma City has traded Dakari Johnson to the Orlando Magic for Rodney Purvis.

Dakari has been with the Thunder since they drafted him in 2015 and earned a two-year deal last July. He appeared in 31 games last season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.1 rebounds. Last week in the Vegas Summer League, he averaged 13.7 points and 5.3 rebounds in three games.

With Nerlens Noel joining the Thunder earlier this month, the move isn’t too surprising. Orlando already has four centers on its roster, but at least we’ll get to see Dakari and Isaiah Briscoe on the same squad.

Really like the kid. There should be opportunity for him in Orlando.

Hopefully Orlando gives him some PT. He got nothing in OKC.

This guy is highly serviceable I don’t understand why he doesn’t see much clock. He looks like Shaq in all the summer games etc

He’s one of those guys that truly loves the game ie Jordan Allen iverson etc . I’d never trade this guy & develop him all the way out . He would play with emotion in those Louisville games & that is something that is missing a lot of time in this modern era of Kentucky basketball
