Dakari Johnson Traded to Memphis

Dakari Johnson is on the move, again.

The former Kentucky center spent his first two NBA seasons in Oklahoma City, bouncing back and forth between the Thunder and their G-League affiliate.  Two days ago, the Thunder shipped him off to Orlando.  Johnson was not with the Magic for 48 hours.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports Johnson has been traded from Orlando to Memphis for Jarrell Martin and cash considerations.

The Grizzlies have quite a few forwards in their frontcourt.  Johnson will have to outplay JaMychal Green and Omri Casspi to earn the right to back up Marc Gasol and this year’s fourth overall pick, Jaren Jackson Jr.

It’s been a hectic week for Johnson, but there is a silver lining in his move to Memphis: he’ll get to play alongside his former Kentucky teammate, Andrew Harrison.

If Memphis can get a few more Cats to join them, I wouldn’t mind watching them!

I agree with you on that. But I would say Memphis won’t be his final stop. I hope he finds a place to show his skills
