John Calipari is out in Phoenix for the Final Four — although he doesn’t know if he’ll watch the games — and the trip out west included a stop by Talking Stick Resort Arena last night for the Suns’ game. (He saw Devin Booker go for 33 points and nine assists; Tyler Ulis had 16 and 13.)
The night before, Calipari took his four “sons” out to dinner, and according to this story on his visit from AZCentral.com, he was left with the tab.
“You won’t believe this, but I had to pick up the bill,” Cal said in an interview. “But it’s a bunch of great kids. They get along with each other. They like each other. They’re just good people. Eric and Brandon, who are a little bit older, are laughing and doing stuff. And they’re letting Devin do his thing and not worrying about it, and letting Tyler do his thing, because they’re comfortable in their own skin. They know how to share because they shared when they were with us.”
Cal also made an appearance in the Suns’ locker room before the game and was told by NBA veteran Tyson Chandler that he still has his college eligibility left.
