Brittney Griner challenges DeMarcus Cousins to one-on-one

In 30 minutes, DeMarcus Cousins and Team USA will take on Australia on NBC Sports Network, so get thee to a television or DVR programming application. Boogie will look to bounce back after a lackluster 6-point, 5-rebound, 5-foul performance earlier this week vs. Venezuela, but this afternoon, Twitter has been abuzz about a match of a different sort. WNBA star and Team USA starting center Brittney Griner told USA Today’s Amick that she wants to test her talents vs. the guys, specifically DeMarcus Cousins:
“I would love to just go out there and play against (Cousins),” said Griner, who has never played against NBA talent. “We talk a lot of crap to each other. I love talking to him. He’s really funny. I would love to just go out there and play against him.
“I’ve never really been around him before until now, but he’s like that big brother, just to talk smack to and who is always competitive. He’s awesome.”
Cousins accepted the challenge after practice yesterday.
“Whenever you’re ready to get it on camera and see her get embarrassed, I’m ready for it,” Cousins said with a smile. “She’s got some footwork, but I’m top dog. I told her she’s the third-best post player here behind me and DJ (DeAndre Jordan). She’s a little mad about that.”
I mean, the teams are bound to have some downtime in Rio in the next few weeks. We can make this happen, right?

With a real basketball or an elementary school kid’s basketball also known as a women’s basketball?
Damn. Brittney couldn’t handle Shoni Schimmel…

how is she going to handle Cousins?
Card Chronicle is —–> that way. Or are you banned there? 😉
when you force your opponent to turn backwards and throw the ball over their head just to get it to the backboard, you have got the best of that matchup, regardless of whether it goes in every now and then.
