Knight is just a smaller piece of the overall trade.
Andre Drummond being shipped to Cleveland for essentially nothing in return is actually hilarious. Knight, John Henson, and a second-round pick is a laughable “haul”. The Pistons literally gave Drummond away. That should tell you all you need to know about his status heading into potential free agency this season.
In 16 games for the Cavaliers this season, Knight averaged 4.9 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 15.1 minutes per game. The 28-year old has dealt with constant knee issues throughout the season and had sat out 11 consecutive games for the Cavs before the trade.
Knight will return to Detroit, where he was drafted back in 2011 with the No. 8 overall pick.
