Brandon Knight and the Suns agree to 5-year $70 million contract extension

We’ve heard rumors about it for a few days now, but it looks like Brandon Knight’s five-year $70 million contract extension with the Phoenix Suns is official. Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski just tweeted that Phoenix has agreed to the terms, which is huge news for our Shakespeare loving former Cat. In additional good news, David Aldridge reports that the Suns will NOT be trading Eric Bledsoe as previously rumored.

If you’re keeping track, that puts the combined value of current contracts for former John Calipari players at approximately $721 million, a figure that doesn’t include Dakari or Andrew’s rookie contracts or the rumored contract coming up for Enes Kanter.

I’d rather have NCAA Titles in 2010 and 2015

Of course you would – you aren’t getting paid.

That’s over 20 individuals reaching their dream and making BIG $.

I thought that was what college was all about? Being trained in a skill you enjoy so you can be successful.

      Those dudes are SUCCESSFUL.

As i review the names on the list and there contracts i am shocked most by Randle’s contract .Although Young’s contract i exspected to be low.Now looking at WCS whom played on the team with them is huge compared to each of them. I know each’s contact is alot of money but not for the NBA . I though each of these 2 should have stayed 1 to 2 more years at UK .Everyone is talking about this past years system and limited minutes . However look at the contracts dollar value from the pass 2 years and just maybe team ball vs showboat is in more demand by the NBA by millions on millions of dollars. Now we don’t want to even review the 2012 team whom also played team ball. I respect coach Cal as the best but i question if 19 and 20 year old kids should solely make this decession unless your Wall, Davis,Towns to name afew. Alot of names i don’t even see.but all in all coach Cal has one hell of an track record . GO BIG BLUE !

Randle is hurt by being a Laker because the Lakers continue to bow to Kobe’s greed and pay him like he’s still one of the best players in the League, when he is no longer one of the best players.

Honestly, Randle’s information is incomplete according to the LA Times. Randle’s salary Year 1-2= $2.9M each. Year 3-4 are team options at $3M each. WCS making more is attributed to being a higher draft pick and a higher salary cap. Randle was projected to go top 5 so saying he should have stayed is stupid.

  8. Poor Brandon. He’s only making half of what AD is making! How’s he going to feed his family on that?
    (just kidding…Latrell Sprewell reference)
