BBNBA: KAT should be an All-Star

All star game

All star game

(@aseaofblue)

So here’s the deal everyone. Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best rising stars in the NBA and he deserves to be an All-Star this season. His numbers, against the far more talented Western Conference, show that he should be an All-Star. And to that point, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis are probably the two best bigs in the league and there’s a chance that neither of them will be All-Stars. Not to mention John Wall playing incredible for the Wizards as of late. Fan voting is a stupid way of choosing these teams because of stuff like Zaza Pachulia having the most votes out of all Western Conference big men while averaging only 5 points and 5 rebounds per game. However, if fan voting is how these deserving former Cats are going to make the All-Star game, then the power of BBN needs to take over. Start tweeting y’all.

Towns getting some love from the @NBA Twitter account for the nice dunk and then the fantastic outlet pass a few plays later.

And couldn’t resist putting the and-1 highlight over top of Former Card Montrezl Harrell.

Enes Kanter, Oklahoma City Thunder (103-95 win over Grizzlies)

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
 30  8-18  0-2  3-3  4  9  13  3  2  0  4  3  +10  19

How strong is Enes? Too strong!

Andrew Harrison, Memphis Grizzlies (103-95 loss to Thunder)

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
 11  2-5 0-1  2-2  0  0  0 0  1 0  0 0  -1  6

Strong drive to the bucket for Andrew.

bbnba-noel

Nerlens Noel, Philadelphia 76ers (98-97 win over Knicks)

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
 21 5-8  0-0  3-4 4  4  8  1  2  0  2  1  -8  13

Did anyone ever expect to see Nerlens hitting this shot with regularity? If you answered yes, then you’re a liar.

One more to prove that they aren’t flukes.

bbnba-wall

John Wall, Washington Wizards (117-108 loss to Celtics)

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
 39  4-21  0-5  1-2  3  4  7  10  3  1  1  2  -3  9

Wall had one of this worst shooting games of the season. Only story from his game was the scuffle after the buzzer sounded between him and Jae Crowder. Looked like it started light-hearted and then got serious quickly. Crowder made it escalate by putting a finger against Wall’s face and Wall took exception.

Jae Crowder put a finger in John Wall's face postgame and an argument ensued.

Jodie Meeks, Orlando Magic (105-96 loss to Clippers)

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
 28  6-11  2-5  0-0  0  5  5  2  5  0  0  2  -6  14

Who says Meeks is only a spot up shooter?

bbnba-liggins

DeAndre Liggins, Cleveland Cavaliers (102-86 loss to Trail Blazers)

MIN FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS
 18  1-5  0-4  0-0  0  1  1  0  1  1  0  2  -1  2

If the Cavs go back to back with another championship this season, I’m convinced it will be because of the defensive help that Liggins is providing every night.

Looks like Crowder is kindly attempting to remove a honker from John Wall’s nostril.

Unless it’s changed, fans only vote for the starters in the all-star game.

Looked it up. Fans only vote for starters, and this year only 50% of the weight for votes for the starters will be fan votes.

from wikipedia (so you know it’s a fact):
The starting lineup for each squad is selected by a fan ballot, while the reserves are chosen by a vote among the head coaches from each squad’s respective conference.[1] Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own players. If a selected player is injured and cannot participate, the NBA commissioner selects a replacement.
