BBNBA: Karl Towns vs. Anthony Davis was Fantastic

It’s fun when Kentucky players face-off in the NBA.  It’s a fantastic spectacle of basketball when it’s a duel between Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Davis.  The two former Cats combined for 78 points Friday night.

I don’t know if there’s a better post defender in the NBA, yet Towns still did this to AD.

Despite his best efforts, Towns couldn’t lead the Timberwolves past the Pelicans, falling 122-106.  Davis had 42 points and 13 boards while Towns posted 36 and 8.  Both players took 22 shots; Davis made 16 (73%) Towns made 13 (45%).  The highlight reel between the two of them is not too shabby.

Before moving on, I find it hilarious that most of AD’s highlights from this photo gallery are against Gorgui Dieng.

John Wall could not be stopped in transition (as usual), finishing with 26 points and 14 assists (his 33rd double-double of the season) in a 112-107 win over the Pacers.

It was the Booker and Bledsoe late night show on ESPN.  The two Suns combined for 50 points in the nationally-televised 18-point win.  Knight added six points; Ulis posted just two in two minutes of PT.

DeMarcus Cousins flirted with a triple-double — 22 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists — in the Kings one-point win over the Hawks.  Willie Cauley-Stein had nine points, but last night Boogie was the man with the highlight dunk.

Despite the win, Cousins was not happy after the game.  A distraught Cousins discussed “battling demons” shortly after serving a one-game suspension.  “I don’t know how to be myself anymore.”

    KAT vs. Ant = Awesome!

Interview with Boogie was equally awesome…

“Did you learn anything from the suspension?”

I wonder if Gorgui Dieng has Anthony Davis nightmares.

I know facts are optional at KSR, but is basic arithmetic also optional?

    If KAT shot 13 for 22 that’s 59%, not 45%.
