Good morning, folks. It was another slow Thursday night in the world of the BBNBA, but we still had some notable performances (good and bad). Let’s talk NBA.

RECAP

Kanter scores season-high 20 points

In what was his best individual game of his 2019-20 season, Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter posted a BBNBA-high of 20 points on 10-13 shooting to go along with nine rebounds, two steals, and two blocks with zero turnovers.

But after Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel Embiid was called out by half the crew of Inside the NBA a few days ago, he made it a point to come out and dominant. Embiid poured in his own season-high of 38 points while pulling in 13 rebounds as Philly secured a 115-109 win over Boston.

After the game, Kanter told reporters that he mentioned the side remarks from former NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley to Embiid, telling the All-Star not to read too much into the comments.

“He’s one of the best big men in the league,” Kanter said, according to AP. “I told him, ‘Hey, don’t worry about it.’ I told him to just go out and play your game.”

Philly won its fourth straight game with the victory and have won eight of its last nine.

Other notes

  • Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets used a fourth-quarter run to brush aside Hassan Whiteside’s career-high 33 points for the Portland Trail Blazers in a 114-99 win. Murray finished with just 12 points on 4-11 shooting but did contribute six rebounds and three assists. Denver had lost five of its previous six games before the win over the Blazers. Skal Labissiere played in 23 minutes for Portland but failed to register a single point while posting a minus-21 in the box score.
