BBNBA: Cousins Outplays Towns

@SacramentoKings

@SacramentoKings

There’s no denying Kentucky’s big men are the most dominant post players in the NBA, but who’s the best is up for debate.  DeMarcus Cousins made his presence known last night against Karl-Anthony Towns.

Towns had a 20-point 10-rebound double-double, but was no macth for Boogie.  Cousins finished with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals in the Kings’ 109-105 win over the Timberwolves.  He was getting it done on the defensive end, stealing a pass to Towns with just a one-point lead in the final 30 seconds, and putting on a shooting clinic from behind the three-point line, knocking down a trio of triples.

Karl still found the time to do things 7-footers shouldn’t do, like lead the fast break.

Willie Cauley-Stein only played 8 minutes, but he made a pair of highlight-worthy plays on the both ends of the floor.

Other action from around the league…

Kentucky’s other dominant post had another dominating performance.  Boogie isn’t the only UK post with long range.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Charlotte Hornets (103-91 win over Bulls)

The Charlotte Hornets didn’t have much of a problem against the Bulls thanks to Nicolas Batum’s triple-double and MKG’s block party.  They never saw this one coming.

Another one.

The Kidd also got it done offensively in transition.

There was another ex-Cat on the other side. Rajon Rondo flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 7 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds.

bbnba-wall

John Wall, Washington Wizards (123-96 loss to the Bucks)

Min FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS

Wall didn’t get the win, but he did get fancy.

DeAndre Liggins, Cleveland Cavaliers (119-99 win over Nets)

Min FG 3PT FT OREB DREB REB AST STL BLK TO PF +/- PTS

With J.R. Smith sidelined for the next month or two with a broken thumb, Liggins is now a starter for the Cavs, but foul trouble prevented him from a ton of PT last night.

Christmas Day BBNBA Schedule

  • 5:00 — Chicago (Rondo) at San Antonio
  • 8:00 — Minnesota (Towns) at OKC (Kanter)
